Front Row to Denali's Splenor

Billy, Laird, Philip, Alex, Dave and other creators of SVA,

What a special spot you’ve created in the front row of Denali’s view shed!

First, an understated word of appreciation. Gents, the place you planted your flag is a special spot on this earth, and we’re all proud to have been allowed to visit for a short week. Thank you for the use of your cabin, your copious gear and stores, your accumulated knowledge of the place and how to enjoy it, your library, your leftover whisky, your running water and neon fluorescent disco moose shed, and all other intangibles that we can’t commit to words.

What follows is an attempt to capture a very very strong week at the SVA cabin in august ’09. Please forgive authorship bias toward and away from the facts.

Be sure to look at all the picture links.  They are all in different formats: Google, Picasa, Fliker, Snapfish. There are a few videos linked and some on You Tube.  The files of inventories are listed in the blog but can be made available in native format.

Below is our SVA Blog Log - maybe next year we will tweet...

  1. That looks like an incredible trip. The Moose rack you guys found is impressive. Where is the spot in the river that looks like a mini-niagra falls? Also, there was one photo looking down on the river, looking North. Was that taken from Bunco bump? If so, how tough was the hike up there? Is it worth doing?
